Amlava River
Amlava river in Sahiya is one of the famous tourist spot of Chakrata. Due to its natural beauty, it is a center of attraction for tourists. It is located at Sahiya, about 17 km before Chakrata. If you want to go to such a tourist place of Sahiya (Chakrata), where you can enjoy the calm environment, then definitely go to see the Amlava river. Here the fast flowing stream of the river will make you feel quite relaxed. One can come to visit this place in any month except the rainy season. There is a natural flow of water here. There are also big ponds built here, in which you can enjoy bathing, from which you can also enjoy the thrilling view of the high mountains. Very old Sanatan Dharma temple is also situated here.
Tiger Falls
Stunning views and cold water falling from the height in the middle of hills and forests define the Tiger Falls, also known as Kerala Pachad and Kailu Pachad. This place attracts trekkers for a one-of-a-kind experience and also serves as a beautiful picnic spot to spend the rest of the day. Height of waterfall: 312 ft (highest direct-waterfall of India) Location: 1 km (downhill trek) from Chakrata-Lakhamandal path and 5 km (uphill and downhill trek through dense forest) from Chakrata taxi stand, near the cantonment area. Best time to visit: March to November. Famous for: Waterfall, Camping, Waterfall rappelling, and Picnic spot.
Deoban (Devban)
Another among the beautiful places to visit in Chakrata is the dense forest that is often referred to as a ‘God’s own forest”. It is situated at an elevation of 2200 metres to 3025 metres above sea level. The forest has the highest peak, ‘Vyasa Shikhar’, that offers majestic Himalayan views. If you visit this place in winter, you might encounter snow on your way, which will add up to an exciting journey. Interesting fact: It is called Vyasa Shikhar because it is where Vyasa wrote Mahabharata. Location: 13 kilometres from Chakrata main market. Best time to visit: March to November. Famous for: Bird watching (especially Green-backed tit, White-collared blackbirds and Himalayan woodpeckers), Himalayan views, Hiking, and Picnic spot.
Budher Caves (Miola Caves)
This one is the best place to visit in Chakrata for anyone who loves unravelling mysteries. Budher cave is still unexplored due to the challenging pathway it offers, but certainly, it promises to deliver a weekend of excitement. It has a legend dating back to the Mahabharata era that goes like it was Pandavas who built this cave to escape when their castle was set on fire. Interesting Fact: The cave is believed to be more than 150 kilometres long, but no one knows the exact length to date. Location: 30 kilometres away from Chakrata, followed by a 3-kilometre long trek from FRH Budher till Miola Tibba. Best time to visit: March to November. Famous for: Unexplored caves, Trekking, and Himalayan viewpoint.
Mundali
Mundali is a fun-filled location where you can enjoy Trekking amidst green forest and snow-covered mountains. With the base town in Chakrata, Mundali also offers skiing at an elevation of 2,776 metres and views of the majestic Himalayas. Chilmiri Neck

Kanasar
Koti-Kanasar is a picturesque location marked ideal for a picnic or a honeymoon. It is surrounded by a dense green forest-the green meadows allure tourists and make it perfect for an excursion.A little town Koti Kanasar is also situated here with few houses.Kanasar is known for maintaining very old Deodar trees, exceptionally well. Asia’s biggest Deodar tree with a circumference of 6.35 meters is present in its woodland. Popular for trekking, treks to Buder Gupha takes 2 hours and Deoban takes 3 hours from Kanasar About 3 km away from Kansar is a Forest Rest House, placed creatively on a slope, this gives segregated coloured hallmark of the terrains.
